It’s not enough for Forbes to talk about this. High school and college guidance counselors need to be real, too. They aren’t. All degrees and majors are sold as guarantees for bettering your life. I dislike blaming students for “picking the wrong major”. If a major is wrong, it shouldn’t be available. The colleges and universities should get with the times.
Creative writing and “illustration”: People who have natural talent in these areas can use the natural talent without a degree. A few classes on some basics may help, but you don’t need a whole degree. Even if you can’t make a living at your art, you can always make money at it on the side while you do something in demand for a living.
Paralegal: Yes, omg, paralegal class ads are everywhere. I can only imagine.
